Shiny Moon Creations

Jennifer J. Benally is an enrolled citizen of the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin and the designer behind Shinymoon Creations. For more than 30 years, she has created Indigenous fashion that honors tradition while embracing contemporary design. From powwow regalia to couture-inspired garments, her work reflects the strength, beauty, and resilience of Indigenous cultures.

A 2023 graduate of the Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA) with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Arts, Jennifer interned with Nike, Inc.‘s Color & Trend team in Beaverton, Oregon, and has taught Costume and Regalia Making for the IAIA Theater Department. Her artistic vision is deeply rooted in her heritage, drawing inspiration from her Diné grandmother’s Two Grey Hills rug weaving, the floral artistry of her Haudenosaunee traditions, and the stories passed down through generations.

Jennifer’s collections have been featured at premier Indigenous art markets across the country, including the Santa Fe Indian Market, Red Earth Festival, the Heard Museum Guild Indian Fair & Market, the Woodland Indian Art Show in Oneida, Wisconsin, and the Tesoro Indian Market, where she has received recognition for both her fashion and Haudenosaunee pottery.

She is especially honored to have three commissioned works permanently installed at the Kahnekano꞉lú Cultural Center in Oneida, Wisconsin, where her art helps celebrate and preserve Oneida history, culture, and identity. Through every design, Jennifer weaves together culture, innovation, and storytelling, creating wearable art that connects generations and inspires pride.
